About Department

Mechanical Engineering is one of the core branches of Engineering that drives the world of technology to excellence. It is one of the broadest engineering disciplines and has applications in various industries, making it a crucial part of modern engineering. The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 2013. The Department offers B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with an intake capacity of 120 Students. A highly-qualified and erudite faculty members with several patents and publications to their credit nurtures students to achieve excellence. The department is known for its expertise and State-of-the-art facilities, especially in CAD designing, Manufacturing and Production Technology, Energy Conversion, I.C. Engines, Mechatronics, and also in other core areas. Short Term Training Programmes, Workshops, and Seminars are also organized for teachers to share and update the technical knowledge. Students have the opportunity to work on M-BAJA, E-BAJA, Go Karting vehicles, etc. This section bagged various awards in different national competitions. Active participation in SAE INDIA BAJA and TIFAN at national level competitions has benefited the students in placement. The department also has an ISHRAE student chapter. Under the aegis of these student chapters, industrial visits and expert talks are conducted. The Department of Mechanical Engineering also offers a Postgraduate Program in Automation and Robotics from 2021-22 with an intake of 12. The program of Automation and Robotics is designed to meet the growing demand for trained engineers in the field of industrial Automation and Robotics.

Dr. R. H. Shinde

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CSMSS Chh. Shahu College of Engineering. The department runs an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate program in Robotics & Automation.

In tune with Vision and Mission, Department of Mechanical Engineering aims to disseminate knowledge and technologies through quality teaching, research and its applications in mechanical and allied disciplines. In our creative and attractive curriculum, we strive to include latest developments of Mechanical Engineering.

At present the department is Well Equipped with all laboratories & Our department features state-of-the-art infrastructure including well-developed laboratories for core courses like Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Industrial Fluid Power, Thermal Engineering, Power Engineering, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, etc. It also features a full-fledged workshop to enhance students’ knowledge and hands-on skills related to manufacturing. Students can learn modern software related to drafting, modelling and analysis, which are nowadays a pre-requisite in industry through our CAD laboratory.

Our dedicated faculty, graduated from renowned universities readily motivates students by involving them in research and Industry projects. Students are encouraged to publish Research Papers under the guidance of faculty, which helps them to acquire admission in reputed universities for Master’s program

Students are trained in developing their leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills by involving them in organizing various activities under Mechanical Engineering Student’s Association (MESA), and active participation under Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) BAJA & TIFAN. This will help young students to strongly take up leadership role in future
