About Department

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2014-15 with high-quality technical manpower needed by industry, research and development, and academic institutions which shall be instrumental for the development of the Nation. The Department offers B.Tech. In Civil Engineering with intake of 60 seats & M.Tech Civil Engineering (CASE) of 12 seats. The Department's academic activities are based on a deep understanding of fundamental principles, the development of a creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve interdisciplinary problems. Civil Engineering is a broad field of engineering that deals with the planning, design, construction & maintenance of the physical & naturally built environment, including works like roads, airways, railways, harbors, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings that make the world a more comfortable place in which to live. The Profession encompasses many disciplines including Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Town Planning, Surveying, and Building Technology & Construction Management. Civil engineering has played a major role in increasing the health & quality of life in the past from ancient times.

Dr. Mir Sohail Ali

The Civil Engineering Department was established to produce competent Civil Engineers for the Infrastructural growth of the Society. The young engineering aspirants, who wish to make their career in the field of Civil Engineering, are welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at CSMSS Chh. Shahu College of Engineering. The department offers B.Tech and M.Tech programs in Civil Engineering. The department has highly qualified professional faculty members specialized in various Civil Engineering streams.

The department has well-equipped laboratories to meet the needs of outcome-based technical education. I am proud of our role in providing high-quality education and hands-on experience to our students so that they are capable of planning, designing, and executing the construction of infrastructural components like buildings, bridges, roadways, railways, and water resource structures for the growing industrial requirements of the globe. We are always enthusiastic about working towards the over all skill development of our students by organizing field visits, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and conferences to expose them to technological advancement in Civil Engineering.
